Palmside NZ ltd is owned and operated by Deane Buist, and has been trading in a steadily increasing range of quality motorsport products since its establishment in 1994, over the years Palmside NZ LTD has picked up some distributorship's for quality products.
Palmside NZ LTD are the NZ distubutor of Silverstone Competition tyres and the NZ and Australian distributor of Quaife power systems like ATB diffs, Steering parts and Gearbox kits for a massive range of cars. Palmside NZ LTD are South Island Distributors for Toyo Race Tyres and stock and sell other products made by Racetech, Momo, Jamex, Chicane, HJC, Stilo, Sparco, Terratrip, Pagid, Terraphone, Willans, Silvester and more. Palmside NZ LTD also imports a range of other quality motorsport parts like: Mintex F Series Brake Pads, Escort fabrication products, Diff Ratios, Graytronics Intercoms, K.A.M BDA components and others.
Deane has been rallying since 1987 competing in well over 150 rallies from club level to the NZ rally championship and the International Rally NZ in 95,96,97 & 98. Deane´s rallying experience also includes the Race to the Sky hillclimb.
Over the years Deane has achieved great success, winning the National Championship classes in 91, 94 & 97, NZ club 2WD in 2001 & 2002 and NZ kiwi two class in 2003, Deane has also won several Mainland Rally Class titles in 1300, 1600 and two wheel drive, plus winning the overall and 4wd in 1992 and 2003.
Deane has had competition experience in a wide variety of vehicles, including, KE25, KE70, TE71, AE86, AE92, AE101 Corollas, MK 2, 2.0 OHC & BDA Escorts, 323 4WD Turbo BFMR & GTX Mazdas, KP60 & EP71 Starlets, EVO 1 & 4 Lancers, Leone 4WD & Impreza WRX Subarus, Sierra Saphire Cosworth 4WD & a Suzuki Baleno Cup car.
Deanes two brothers Brent and Glenn started rallying in the mid 1980's and have a vast range of knowledge in running and building cars, Brent runs a workshop at the same site and specializes in preparing competition cars.
